Size, color and frequency of skin moles

Fair-skinned people are the ones who commonly get Skin moles. Moles usually form when melanocytes group together in the form of a cluster. Some moles will be present right from birth, while some other moles will develop during later phases of your life. There will be around ten to forty moles per person and it is usually located in areas exposed to sun light.

Statistics show that, in America alone, more than three hundred Americans have moles. These common moles are called nevi. Similarly the number of Americans with dysplastic nevus is around one in ten people. This will be close to thirty million people. This is not an alarming fact. The fact that nearing seventy thousand people develop melanoma in a year is a matter of great concern. The danger of melanoma is high because it is metastatic. Thus your lungs, bones and kidneys can also get affected. The earlier you detect, the safer is your health condition.

You will have no other option, when you have been diagnosed with melanoma. You must have those skin moles removed through surgical procedures. Melanoma is found in both men and women, though in different parts of their body. In women, it mainly appears in the lower part of the legs. The neck and back region is the usual place for men to have melanoma. Melanoma rarely affects people with dark complexion. When they do get it, however, they are found under the toes or the soles of the feet. Two in ten thousand Americans experience this skin problem. Melanoma has inflicted itself upon eight lakh Americans to date.

Can a layman find the difference between a common mole and melanoma?

The distinction can be found in the color and size of the skin moles. The width of melanoma can reach around six mm. This is larger than the size of a normal pencil eraser. Dysplastic nevus is around five mm wide. Although larger than melanoma, dysplastic nevi are benign. On the other hand, normal moles reach half an inch in width. They can also be as wide as three to four inches.

You can easily identify a melanoma, as it normally has an uneven color distribution. The shades of color will vary. The colors could vary from black, brown, blue, grey, pink and white. Dysplastic nevus will be having shades of brown, pink and red color. Nevus, however, will only have one color. Normally, you will see them in shades of brown or black. Those moles that are highly pigmented will be complete black in color. The color of a normal skin mole is somewhat closer to the skin tone of each person. The contour of melanoma is blurred. They will normally be four mm wide and will grow even larger as the skin cancer becomes worse.

Moles are not threatening. They do not have to be mandatorily removed. However, they may cause social awkwardness to some people. This might lead to lack of confidence. Some cultures in the world consider moles to be beauty marks, provided they appear on certain spots of the body. Everybody desires to be perfect.

Mole removal need not be done only by surgical procedures. There are natural methods, that can do the trick as well. But in this method, the pain can be a little more severe. Sometimes, it can be associated with slight bleeding or severe bleeding. Scabs are to be expected around the mole area. But you must be careful not to prick those scabs. Pricking them would cause permanent scarring. There are several facial mole remover creams that are available. Consult with a skin specialist before trying any cream to avoid any allergic reactions.

Have your moles checked, whether they are cancerous or not before starting any mole removal methods. If they are likely to cancer, you can identify it by the change in the shape, size, symmetry and border of the moles. Moreover, the total number of the moles will also increase in the body suddenly. In this case, no home remedy or natural treatment will work. Your only option is laser surgery or other surgical procedures.

Do you know that you can try using either baking soda or castor oil for mole removal? Many can attest the effectiveness of these methods. But you need to be quite careful on using baking soda. The concentration of baking soda must be appropriate. Do not launch into any mole removal procedure, when you put on too much baking soda.

How to prepare the mixture with these two ingredients? You just need to use a tablespoon of castor oil. You can get this anywhere. Add a little baking soda to the castor oil. These two will be mixed, until a thick paste is formed. Directly apply the paste on the mole areas. This paste mixture is a very effective natural mole remover. Even moles on your arms and legs can be applied with the paste. You can apply them on your face, if the results are good on your legs and arms. Apply large amounts of the paste to make the most of it.

Stop the treatment, if you feel a stinging or burning sensation on the skin. Cover the applied area with bandage to enforce its effectiveness. Repeat this procedure several times a week. You cannot observe the final result on a single day. Wait for a couple of weeks or more before you can see the results. If you feel like it is taking so long for the results to show, do not lose heart. Be patient. Home remedies do not work overnight; they take time. The effect will be gradual, with the mole decreasing in size and its color fading away.

You can also use other methods such as burning and freezing to get rid of moles. There are also mole removal removing sprays that you can try. Sterilize the mole and its surrounding area first, before applying any mole remover.

Eliminate Skin Blemishes With Mole Cream

mole cream is commonly used to eliminate skin blemishes such as a mole. If surgery is too much to remove a simple mole, this procedure may be ideal for you. But this sounds too good to be true. Because of this, you have to know how a mole cream works in removing your mole.

How A Mole Cream Works?

A mole cream works on removing your mole by burning the core of your mole. Once your mole is burnt, it will dry up just all by itself. Just be careful not to apply the mole cream on the mole's surrounding skin. You also need to scratch your mole a bit, so it might hurt a little when applying the cream on the mole. The cream components will be absorbed by the mole through the lesion from the scratch. This is how the mole cream works to remove your mole.

Side Effects Of Mole Cream

There might be side effects if you apply the cream on your mole. Effects differ on what type of skin you have. This is why others have experienced side effects while you might not have anything at all. It also might make you feel at ease that mole cream from sanctioned drugstores have gone through proper approvals so that there is nothing to worry about. Side effects have been considered and benefits have been proven to be true. So be sure the mole cream is legitimate. The usual side effects mole creams might give are the burning feeling on the mole and red marks on where the mole used to be. Scar is not totally uncommon, especially on skins that are susceptible to it. This will depend on how deep your mole was. If your mole is on your face and the process left a huge deep scar on your face then this would be the most severe side effect. However, this is a very rare occurrence and depends entirely on what skin type you have.

Cautions In Using Mole Cream

Consulting your dermatologist will help you with removing your mole. This is because there are moles that are cancerous. If applying the mole cream inflamed your mole then it is best to go to your dermatologist right away. If you are overcautious with applying mole cream on skin, you can always make a concoction of mole cream on your own using castor oil and onion juice. It will just take long time before you see results, if there is any.

Possible Benefits To At-Home Mole Remover Methods

People who are born with moles, or develop them later in life, sometimes want to get rid of them. Often, people like to get rid of them without having a doctor do it, for financial or personal reasons. Sometimes this can be accomplished with an at-home mole remover, but not always.

Moles are natural, benign growths that many people are born with. Some moles develop later in life and they can be triggered by sun exposure. Moles are benign, but it is possible to confuse them with certain types of skin cancer. In order to keep this possibility on top, most doctors recommend you get any moles that change shape, size, or color checked out by a dermatologist.

Some moles are raised bumps, some are completely flat and others stick out a lot. For the at-home removal of the types that stick out, most people swear by dental floss. The floss is tied tightly around the mole and after a few days, it dries up and falls off. If this practice is going to be used, it is very important that everything be clean. Some swelling is normal before drying and falling off.

Most other methods of removal are topical. These are usually skin irritants that cause a scab to form. When the scab falls off, the mole goes with it. Many doctors are not in favor of this method of removing moles, because it usually requires scratching or cutting the skin, which can cause infection if not done carefully.

Using a skin irritant method can also leave pits or scars when the scab falls off. In some cases, these can be permanent. However, medical processes used to remove moles also have these issues, so they are usually not a sufficient reason to avoid the process. However, everyone should consider whether they would rather have the moles or potential scars, before they seek any kind of treatment.

Commercial skin irritant creams that remove moles, as well as skin tags and warts, are widely available. Many people find them successful, but a few find they do not work. Re-growth is common because moles are often embedded deeper in the skin than they appear, but again, this is a problem found with both traditional medical and at-home treatment methods.

It isn't necessary to purchase a specialized cream however. Many people find success with other types of skin irritants when used in the same manner, applied to scratched skin over the surface of the moles. The most commonly used substances are apple cider vinegar and garlic, although unique options such as dandruff shampoo are also sometimes suggested.

Any time that a mole remover requires the skin be scratched or broken, care must be taken to let infection take hold. Using clean, sterile equipment is thus essential. This can be accomplished by sticking a needle in a flame for a moment and cleaning the skin with alcohol. However, not even taking precautions will prevent every possible infection, so keep an eye on the area for redness, swelling, pus and other negative signs.

Natural Mole Removal Alternatives That Work

Although a person need not worry with moles, some have their disadvantages. They may sometimes come in huge sizes thus causing discomfort. Some may even be in places that are very noticeable hence making a person lose confidence. Apart from natural mole removal techniques, a person may employ other means. Before trying anything you will need to consult your dermatologist. This is because most have turned out to be cancerous.

One can have a nevi shaved off or removed by excision. The doctor will first administer a dose of anesthetic to numb the skin around the mole. This method is preferred by many because of the low cost involved. The mole may however grow back if it is not done properly. It may also leave a dark mark or scarring on the patient.

To avoid having it grow back, an elliptical excision may be performed. Here the doctor will give the patient local anesthetic. After this, the mole and the skin surface around it will be carefully removed. This method may leave a permanent scar. A person also risks excessive bleeding. If proper care is not taken, it may expose one to various infections.

Laser surgery is one other option to be considered. It is especially used to remove flat nevi that may be brown or dark colored. This works by breaking down the melanin found on the nevi and sending it for absorption by the skin. It will take about three visits to the doctor and is quite costly.

Liquid nitrogen may also be used. Here the doctor puts the liquid in a special gun used for dispensing the nitrogen. He will hold down onto the affected area with it so that the mole is exposed to the nitrogen. You may feel a sting then and in the days to come. Avoid any contact with that place. After a few days the mole will fall off. Pick it up and dispose it carefully.

Some people have successfully used duct tape for this procedure. A piece of duct tape is cut and used to cover the mole. You should then just leave it in place for about four to five days. You could add more tape on top of that one to sort of make it suffocate. After those days are over, remove the tape. The mole should be sticking on it.

You may also use clean unscented dental floss. Tie it tightly several times around the nevi. This will cut off any blood supply to it. It may at first feel uncomfortable but with time you will get used to it. It will only take a few days before it falls off on its own.

You may also prefer to buy pharmaceutical products. These products are in easy to carry containers. Unlike natural mole removal products, you can use them anywhere and at anytime. All you need to do is read the instructions carefully. If used wrongly, they may end up affecting your skin or causing some other dire consequences.
